This palm is also known as a nut palm, or a fishtail palm, due to the split leaves that resemble a fish tail. It belongs to the areaceae species and comes from the tropical forests of South Asia and India. Caryota mitis requires a constantly moist substrate with good drainage and high air humidity. This variety is a stunning form of Thai peanut palm that retains its 'variegata' qualities by reproducing from seed. It is as easy to grow as the regular Caryota Mitis.
